You will have probably seen from news reports or social media that the Trade Union Bill is making its way through Parliament notwithstanding some great opposition from Labour MP’s and an inability of many Tory MP’s and supporters to defend their own proposals.
As part of the campaign against this major assault on trade union and human rights the TUC is organising a lobby of Parliament on Monday, 2nd November, which our Campaign is obviously supporting.
A link to the CTUF webpage about the lobby is here: www.tradeunionfreedom.co.uk/trade-union-bill-lobby-of-parliament/ <http://www.tradeunionfreedom.co.uk/trade-union-bill-lobby-of-parliament/>
The day’s event will start with a rally in Central Hall at 1:00 pm, followed by the lobby of Parliament from 2:30 pm. Please note that if you are coming to London you should make an appointment to see your MP in advance.
If you have a Labour or other opposition MP it is important to give support to their opposition in Parliament and to remind them to stay close to their union’s political office to keep up to date with developments.
If you have a Tory MP you may wish to put one or all of the points set out on the CTUF webpage to them. You can do this in person on 2nd November or you can e-mail your MP stressing that you support the lobby, oppose the Bill and ask for a response to the five points.
You can find your MP’s e-mail address from a link on the webpage.
I look forward to seeing many of you on 2nd November.
