We re-opened with a bang and are well under way with some cracking nights of music, comedy and theatre. With our kitchen reopened and a newly refreshed menu alongside our beautiful new sun trap beer garden, the pub is as charming and as better as ever.
Mon 6th In our theatre; The Eddie Farmer Show Magic as you've never seen it before. In this show you'll witness feats in magic and illusion set against the narrative of a magician's life. From those first years of practice at home, up until accomplishing the goal of spectacular illusion. With a traditional feel, it stands as a show of today.
The Complete Works of Shakespeare continues in its last week Tues 7th – Sat 11th June.
The Platform, Sun 12th & Mon 13th Now in its fourth year the in-house new writing night of The Bread & Roses Theatre, The Platform is back for it's ninth instalment. Featuring plays from our record submission round of over 500 plays, we have another exciting and entertaining line-up.
Tues 14th & Weds 15th Rooted Moon Theatre present Candela Mr Candela is a tale of a small town and its plummet into darkness. Once a happy inventor who entertained the town with his fascinating light inventions , Mr Candela's life and the future of the village takes a turn when he accidentally starts a fire in his workshop where his wife is.
New Stager's present Follow Me Thurs 16th – Sun 19th Ruth Ellis was the last woman in Britain to be hanged by the most ‘decorated’ executioner of our time, Albert Pierrepoint. Ruth Ellis was my grandmother. Follow Me takes us into the worlds of the hanged and the hangman in the moments leading to Ellis' execution.

Rock Paper Scissors present With or Without EU Mon 20th June Are we heading for a thundering apocalypse or a glorious revolution? If you believe the headlines, it's one or the other. So which one will you choose? Are we better off with or without the EU?
Tues 21st – Sat 25th Weird Sisters Theatre Co. Present Airswimming 1924: Persephone Baker is planning her coming-out ball at the Dorchester when she finds herself abandoned at St Dymphna’s Hospital for the Criminally Insane with only 'unhinged, cigar-smoking, monomaniac transsexual' Dora Kitson to keep her company.
Tess of the d’Ubervilles by Tom Hardy Tues 28th – Sat2nd July. Four actors play multiple roles in what is an enigmatic and fast paced telling of virtue, love and injustice, but above all the impact of this on the human condition.
The Blues Jam returns for the last Sunday of the month, Sun 26th. Led by 4 piece band including harmonica great Errol Linton, all musicians welcome. https://www.facebook.com/Errol-Linton-136938789717714/ A great way to spend a Sunday early evening.
