Please see the message below from Sadiq.
Thank you for your ongoing support for #keepthetrackrunning!
You may remember that in my last update I mentioned that Councillors Leonie Cooper, Candida Jones and Fleur Anderson were looking to take the decision to go ahead with seeking expressions of interest to run Tooting Bec Athletics Track from outside organisations to a full council meeting. This will give ALL councillors a chance to have their say on the future of the track.
I am pleased to report the councillors succeeded and this Wednesday our petition will be handed to the council. Every councillor in Wandsworth will now get to have their say on the future of the track. This allows us a second chance to demonstrate how important the track is to the community, and why it is so important that local residents are involved in the decision making process.
There are two things you can do to help:
- Join us in one last push to collect as many signatures as possible before Wednesday. Please share this link <http://www.sadiqkhan.org.uk/keep_tooting_bec_athletics_track_running> with all your friends and family, and make sure they add their name
- Attend the full council meeting. A strong attendance in the public gallery will send a clear message to the council on the level of support for keeping the track accessible and affordable. Tomorrow's meeting starts at 7:30pm, at Wandsworth Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, SW18 2PU.
Please share this email with anyone you think may be able to help us. In case you can't make it along, I will be sure to update you on Thursday.
In the meantime, please spread the word on Twitter too <http://ctt.ec/fb7aT> , and keep up the great work!
